Teton County Firefighters Local 4667 Buys Anti-Concussion Helmets for High School Football Team
Driggs, Idaho, September 17, 2012 — Teton County Firefighters Local 4667 was recognized for donating helmets to the high school football team during a halftime event at Friday’s home game. Spurred into action after hearing about the Davis family’s generous contribution, the Firefighters Local 4667 unanimously voted to contribute money from its general fund to buy six anti-concussion helmets, which fulfilled the high school team’s remaining helmet need.
In order to purchase the helmets prior to the season opener, the Firefighters Local 4667 held an emergency meeting to vote on the idea. “The decision was an easy one; we allocate money from our general fund to help local and national causes. We all agreed that purchasing the helmets was critical to keeping these young men safe on the field,” said Captain Aaron Danz.
The member firefighters contribute to the general fund through monthly dues and regularly donate to worthy causes like the helmet purchase, Toys for Tots, and Muscular Dystrophy Association.
