Capt. Jeremy Caulkins

Name: Jeremy Caulkins
Title:
Captain
Years of Service: Since 2009
Hometown and Years in Teton Valley: Holland, Michigan; Lived in Teton Valley since 1999

Personal Details (family and hobbies): I am the proud dad of two incredible kids, Emma and Archer. When they aren’t playing soccer, volleyball or hockey, we’re out skiing, camping, fishing, boating, fourwheeling or barbequing with friends. Archer is about to be in middle school and Emma is about to be in high school, so my work is certainly cut out for me. We live in a beautiful mountain town, so we spend very little time indoors and look for new adventures every day.

Why did you want to become a firefighter?: I wanted to become a firefighter because I felt that it was the perfect career for me. I was in a time of my life when changing careers and pursing a childhood dream was actually a possibility. I was friends with a Captain at the fire department, and I began discussing and researching with him what it would take and what it was like. I then knew that this was exactly what I was meant to do. Oddly enough, a new fire recruit class was about to begin, so I dove in head first and never looked back. Nothing makes me happier than helping other people. I have enjoyed careers in auto mechanics, carpentry, and excavation; and I can honestly say that as a career firefighter, I have never been happier or prouder of what I do.
